Port Hope Simpson Investigation
J. O. Williams, owner, Labrador Development Company Ltd. & Sir John Hope Simpson, Commissioner of Natural Resources & Acting-Commissioner of Justice for Newfoundland 1934-36 have left unanswered questions about wages of the early loggers, houses that were supposed to have been built and about the incongruous deaths of Arthur Eric Williams and Erica Anitoff Williams, his infant daughter in Port Hope Simpson from its foundation as a logging town on Alexis Bay in 1934.
